FAQ

Do I really need hurricane shutters or impact windows?

You need to protect your property, no matter if you decide to go with accordion shutters, storm panels, roll shutters or colonial, bahama shutters or impact windows. You need to keep in mind that you live in an area where it is likely for a storm with hurricane winds to hit your home, which is an asset not worth losing because you did not plan ahead and get proper hurricane protection. The first line of defense against hurricanes and intense storms are hurricane shutters and they are an investment for protecting your home, your property inside your home and those who live inside the home. Hurricane force winds are strong and powerful, this high force wind will carry with it debris, such as garbage cans, tree limbs, mailboxes and more! Imagine having all this debris thrown at your homes unprotected windows and glass doors, once a window is shuttered; the inside of your home is exposed to the storms damaging winds. Tape and duct tape will not protect your windows from these high forced winds and tape will specifically not protect your home from debris that is flying in high force winds.

I have a brand new home; won’t the structure be strong enough to withstand a hurricane?

No, you need to remind yourself that the windows of your new property are still highly vulnerable to breakage. Even well built structures need to be protected from hurricane force winds and debris.
